Canon Announces the Release of Six New A-Series Powershot Digital Cameras

Canon has announced the release of six new entry-level Powershot A-series cameras. All six cameras come equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor, 28mm wide angle lens, and can record 720p video. For the first time in a PowerShot camera, each model will also feature a Help button to explain various shooting modes helping user's maximize the features of each camera.
Other model specific features are as follows:
- A4000 IS features image stabilization, 8x optical zoom, a 3 inch LCD, and smart auto feature with 32 shooting modes. The A4000 IS will be available this month for $200.
- A3400 IS features 5x optical zoom, image stabilization, and a 3 inch touchpanel LCD with touch focus and shutter. The A3400 IS will be available in March for $180.
- A2400 IS features image stabilization, 5x optical zoom, and a 2.7 inch LCD. The A2400 IS will be available in March for $160.
- A2300 features a 5x optical zoom and a 2.7 inch LCD and will be available in March for $159.99
- A1300 features an optical viewfinder, 5x optical zoom, 2.7 inch LCD, and will be powered by AA batteries. The A1300 will be available in April for $120.
- A810 features a 2.7 inch LCD and will be powered by AA batteries, it will be available in April for $110.
