Panasonic Introduces their Smallest and Lightest Digital Interchangeable Lens Micro Four Thirds Camera – The LUMIX DMC-GF2!

Panasonic announced the anticipated LUMIX DMC-GF2, the latest in Panasonic's line of mirrorless interchangeable lens system camera. The LUMIX DMC-GF2 is the successor to last year’s award winning Lumix DMC-GF1. The GF2 will be the smallest and lightest camera in Panasonics growing lineup of mirrorless interchangeable micro four thirds system cameras. The GF2 is lighter and much smaller than its predecessor the GF1.

The LUMIX DMC-GF2 is equipped with an updated 12.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor with internal dust reduction and a Venus Engine FHD image processor which allows for extremely fast-pace performance and high-quality photos and High Definition video recording at 1080p as well as 720p AVCHD. The GF2 is equipped with a 3 inch touch-screen LCD which serves as the do-all for the cameras touch focus and exclusive access to all menu and program modes replacing previous models physical mode dials. Furthermore, with advanced noise reduction technology the GF2 allows for clear and balanced images even in low light conditions with an ISO range of 100 to 6400.

The GF2 also carries over many of the award-winning features from the GF1 including a pop-up flash, RAW and RAW+JPG shooting modes, full-resolution burst mode that maxes out at about 3 frames per second, and a hot shoe that accepts external flashes or an electronic viewfinder. Additionally, as with all of Panasonic micro four third cameras the GF2 is compatible with Panasonic's revolutionary new 3D interchangeable lens, the LUMIX G 12.5mm / F12, allowing users can take 3D photos.

The new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF2 is packed with features and promises to be the camera envy of many in the growing field of mirrorless interchangeable micro four thirds cameras. The GF2 will be shipping in January available in black, silver, white, and red models, bundled with a 14mm F2.5 pancake kit lens or a 14-42mm zoom lens kit. Pricing will be announced in mid to late December.
