Sony Unveils the Super Thin Cyber-shot TX55 Digital Camera

Sony does skinny to the extreme with the new 12.2mm thin Cyber-shot TX55. Adding to Sony's lineup of TX series cameras, the TX55 is packed with features that are sure to impress. With its 3.3 inch OLED touch-screen and 16.2MP CMOS Exmor R sensor the TX55 delivers incredibly vivid images and full HD 1080i AVCHD movie recording. Among its most notable features is what Sony calls "By Pixel Super Resolution" which provides the ability to shoot 12MP photos while simultaneously recording 1080i video. Additionally, "By Pixel Super Resolution" allows for full-resolution 5x digital zoom on top of the camera's 5x optical zoom. The TX55 is also the first Cyber-shot model to offer in-camera effects filters and includes eight of them including HDR painting, toy camera, miniature, and more. Some additional features include 3D still image mode and sweep panorama mode. Furthermore, its 26mm wide-angle zoom lens is perfect for taking scenic landscape photos.


The Cyber-shot TX55 will be available in September for $350.
