09.01.2010

Samsung updated it's line of dual LCD Cameras with its announced release of the DualView ST600 and ST100.  Samsung Digital Imaging CEO, Sang-Jin Park, stated as part of the announcement, "The use of digital imaging technologies has evolved and we are offering functionality and capabilities that no other digital camera manufacturer has yet addressed".
The highlight of Samsung's DualView cameras are the second front-facing LCD's which helps user's to frame self-portaits. In todays world with the increasing popularity of social networking sites, self-portraits and profile pictures are becoming increasingly more important to consumers. As previous DualView models have shown, these cameras feature more than just a clever extra LCD, they are also excellant and well designed point-and-shoot cameras with an intuitive and easy to navigate user interface.
The ST600 and the ST100 are both equipped with 14.2 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, image stabilization, face detection, and HD 720p movie recording with HDMI output. The difference between the two cameras becomes evident in the movie mode. The ST600 comes equipped with an audio zoom mode that makes it easier to capture audio while shooting video. The ST600 also offers a 27mm wide-angle focal length with 5x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the ST100 has an internal 5x optical zoom with a 35mm focal length that allows for the slim camera design.
These cameras will be available this month, September 2010, with the ST100 going for a suggested price of $349.99, while the ST600 will carry a suggested price of about $329.99.
