Samsung Releases Full HD 3D LED TV with Help from Director James Cameron and The Black Eyed Peas
04.01.2010

Samsung Electronics officially released its Full HD 3D LED TV line Wednesday, March 10th with a little help from some friends. Pop sensation The Black Eyed Peas gave a surprise concert to adoring fans in Times Square in an effort to raise awareness for the future of the 3D market.

Quite possibly one of the biggest proponents of the success of the new, rising 3D market, Avatar Director James Cameron was on-hand. Along with his production company, Cameron/Pace, the celebration was captured in all its 3D glory and was also streamed live via Dipdive.com.

Samsung also announced footage from The Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. tour would be exclusively available in 3D to Samsung customers. Dreamworks Animation SKG's Shrek film series will soon be made available in 3D Blu-ray as well.

Samsung's release of their first-ever Full HD 3D LED TVs is only the beginning. “Last year Samsung created a new category in home entertainment by bringing LED TVs to the market, and now we are adding a new dimension to the category by adding 3D LED TVs,” said Boo-Keun Yoon, President of Visual Display Business Unit at Samsung Electronics. “3D is more than just a groundbreaking technology – it’s the future of television."
