01.11.2010

For the first time, Sony has utilized the same design team to develop their TV line and corresponding product line, unveiling their 2010 lineup at the International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada this past week. This new line introduces Sony’s first-ever 3D-capable products.

Among the company's 2010 TV lineup, Sony has classified the series by premium end, best picture, latest features, and value:

  • Under the "brand" category is the XBR-LX900 series, arriving in 60-, 52-, 46- and 40- inch models. Each of the series offer edge-lit LED lighting with an anti-reflective panel and face detection for auto-backlight dimming. 1080p resolution and 240Hz Motionflow frame-rate processing define each 3D model.

  • Under the "picture" category are the XBR-HX900 series and LED KDL-HX800 series. Sony's latest XBR-HX900 series make 3D glasses and emitter an available addition to a beautiful, 1080p resolution, 240Hz set. Enjoy 3D adventure on a set that includes a full-array LED backlight and comes in a slim form with screen sizes including 52- and 46- inches. The LED KDL-HX800 series is similar in style to the HX900 with 1080p resolution, 240Hz Motionflow and Bravia Engine 3 Video processing but with edge-lit LED lighting.

  • Under the "feature" category Sony has unveiled the KDL-NX800 series and the KDL-NX700 series. The KDL-NX800 comes equipped with edge-lit LED panel lighting and Bravia Internet Video with integrated Wi-Fi technology. Both models include screen sizes of 60-, 52-, 46- and 40- inches.

  • Under the "value" section customers can choose from seven model series ranging from those with basic 720p resolution CCFL to the 1080 edge-lit LED 120Hz models.

The 2010 Bravia sets will be released in three waves. The Sony Bravia 3D output sets will all feature 1080p, 240Hz technology and will be released in the third wave starting this summer.
