Sigma Offers First-Ever Scholarship

The Sigma Corporation of America have announced their first-ever scholarship contest. One talented high school senior will be awarded $5,000 in cash and $1,000 in Sigma products in order to continue their education and pursue a career in the photography industry.


High school seniors must complete an application, brief essay, and submit three to five images that all have a connecting theme to be considered for the Sigma Corporation of America Scholarship. All judgment of items will be based on subject selection, overall technique, and image quality. All images and essays will be publicly posted on the Sigma website for online voting from February 16, 2010 to April 23, 2010. The top three finalists from the public online voting will be judged by a panel comprised of Sigma executives to award the final winner.


Applications will be accepted from November 19, 2009 to February 15, 2010. Applicants must be high school students in their senior year, graduating in 2010, and aspiring to a higher education degree in a photo-related field, such as photography, photojournalism, graphic arts, design, visual arts, or art history.


The winner will be announced May 3, 2010.
