Sony Introduces The NEX-VG20 Handycam Its Newest Interchangeable Lens Camcorder
08.31.2011

Sony introduces a new Handycam full HD interchageable lens camcorder, the NEX-VG20. The NEX-VG20 is the successor to Sony's first interchangeable lens camcorder the NEX-VG10. With Sony's rapidly expanding list of E-Mount lenses videographers have an increasingly wide range of lenses to choose from to explore their artistic potential. The NEX-VG20 is equipped with Sony's new Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and BIONIZ processor, the same used in Sony's NEX-5N and C3 still cameras. The new sensor boosts the Handycam's resolution from the NEX-VG10's 14 megapixels to a maximum 16.1 megapixels and the new processor speeds up and improves the camcorder's focusing abilities. Furthermore, when shooting video in full HD AVCHD format the NEX-VG20 gives you the option of 24p or 60p frame rates.

The Sony Handycam NEX-VG20 will be available in November with body only retailing for $1599 or including Sony's SEL18200 f3.5-6.3 E-mount lens for $2199.
