Nikon Announces the Release of Their Newest DSLR the Nikon D5100
04.06.2011

Nikon unveiled their newest entry-level DSLR the Nikon D5100. Featuring a 16.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, this Nikon DX-format DSLR replaces the D5000 in Nikon's lineup and follows the recent trend of combining the photographic ability of a DSLR with the latest in HD video capabilities. Equipped with Nikon's EXPEED 2 image-processing engine it produces professional-quality images with many functional options to provide you with the perfect tool for your creative expression. In movie mode the D5100 excels capturing video in full 1080p HD at up to 30fps with continuous auto-focusing abilities.  Also helpful in movie mode is the D5100's flexible Vari-angle 3 inch LCD monitor which also comes in handy when composing images at difficult angles.  This latest DSLR from Nikon is also their first to feature in-camera special effect modes that can be applied to both photos and video, allowing even more options for your creative expression.

The new Nikon D5100 will be available in mid April for $799.95 for the body only, and $899.95 for the body and AF-S 18-55mm VR kit lens.
