Sony to Release a Unique Clip-on 5-Inch LCD Monitor for DSLR’s
01.31.2011

The ever increasing use of DSLR's for shooting high quality video has brought to focus the issue of LCD screen size. While not a noticeable issue while shooting stills, when shooting video a small viewfinder may not be sufficient. With that thought in mind Sony has announced the imminent release of the CLM-V55, a portable external LCD monitor. This clip-on monitor is an external high-resolution 5 inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) LCD panel which tilts and swivels to any angle. The CLM-V55 can be easily attached to most interchangeable lens digital cameras and HD camcorders with the supplied adapter via the accessory shoe or the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera. Besides providing you with excellent clarity, a wide viewing angle, and on-screen markers for precise framing, this monitor also provides a wide range of adjustable monitor settings to enhance your video shooting needs.

The CLM-V55 is expected to be available in March and Sony has yet to announce pricing.
